Fibers Make
All the Difference |
|
-
Nylon
- The workhorse of our industry. Provides durability and
performance with a wide style selection at reasonable prices.
-
Wool
- The oldest carpet fiber is known for its luxurious look and
feel. However, it is not as durable as man-made carpet fibers
and it is much more expensive.
-
Polyester -
Best suited for low-traffic areas where color and
low price are the main criteria for selection.
-
Polypropylene -
Also called Olefin, is a cheap,
abundant petroleum based yarn. It is often used in
indoor/outdoor carpet because it resists moisture. It is used in
commercial carpets and also widely used in Berber carpets because of
its low cost. Due to its relatively low resilience, its use
should be restricted to areas of low traffic.
-
P.E.T.
(polyethylene terephthalate) Polyester - Made from recycled
plastic bottles. When constructed with optimum twist and
stitch rate, provides outstanding performance. Because it is a
plastic-based yarn it is naturally the most stain resistant fiber
available.
