Carpet Types

Type Pile Type Suitability
Saxony Plush A dense level cut pile of about one half inch or less.  Yarn tufts are closely packed, presenting a smooth, luxurious surface. Generally used for formal settings.
Textured/Trackless A level cut pile with a high twist yarn. This style is best suited for high-traffic areas of the home.  Minimizes foot prints or vacuum marks.
Freize Curled or twisted tufts make for a textured plush.  Designed for everyday use. Especially suitable for less formal decors.
Cut-Loop Yarns are tufted into islands of high cut tufts and lower loop tufts to a sculptured pattern. A traditional classic best suited to informal settings.
Berber Available in a simple level loop pile with loops of equal height or loop pile with two or three levels of tufts forming a random sculpted surface. Broad application including semi-formal schemes.
Random Shear/Tip Features a mix of cut and uncut loops, creating a highly textured surface appearance. Suitable for both formal and informal settings.
